kerri Bowen

Kerri founded City Lights, formerly Boston Shakespeare Project, in 2012. She holds a B.A. in English and Economics from Bowdoin College and a Ph.D. in English from Tufts University. Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, Kerri was a Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Bates College and Connecticut College, and a Lecturer in Writing at Tufts University. Her teaching and research interests include gender studies, visual culture, narrative theory, and the humanities in public life. She is inspired by the creativity and vision of CL’s youth participants and believes in the power of storytelling to promote community building and social change.
